Corollary to Full Moon at 0° of Libra on
March 20, 2019 ~ 09:43 pm EST / March 21, 2019 ~ 01:43 am UST

This lunation concentrates primarily on Libra, the 7th house of relationships with both the sun and the new moon at 15° of Libra. We will be emphasizing balance in our relationships and the essential give and take it implies.

This new moon also squares Pluto from 18° Capricorn, suggesting the restraints of responsibility may make itself felt and put strain on our personal relationships. Our careers or authority may be challenging us, or undergoing a transformation that asks us to make compromises where our relationships are concerned, especially for the sake of our careers.

An inconjunct from Neptune at 14° Pisces to the luminaries may complicate things and we may want to give more than we should or let people walk all over us. These qualities will be at odds with our relationships and cause more friction that can not be so easily resolved and we may find ourselves in a holding pattern, waiting for the fog to lift.

Mercury at 28° of Libra also highlights communications in the 7th house of relationships, increasing the velocity of these social aspects and the possibility of day trips, experiences with siblings.

This Mercury at 28° of Libra faces an opposition from Uranus at 1° of Taurus, both houses ruled by Venus. We may have an unexpected contract that brings us earnings or other resources. It may involve a relationship or connection, or possibly hinder a relationship or connection, and we may have to make a decision regarding how we handle our social resources (relationships) and our monetary resources.

This Mercury at 28° of Libra also squares the north node of Leo at 2°, and so we may have communications that are not serving up to our potential. North node in Leo is asking us to be more politic – dare I say royal – with our self-expression.

Venus at 10° Scorpio is in retrograde. The last retrograde period was in early 2017. We can expect that financial matters might be put on hold or need re-evaluating; we might be considering our beauty and wanting a change, and we may be reconsidering our love relationships and in the house of Scorpio, the potential for permanent break-ups is possible, but in retrograde, do not be surprised if romances thought to be dead unexpectedly come back to life. On the darker side, there may be issues of power and control and fighting over resources. Now is the time to evaluate what you want from your beloved.

Further compounding this Venus in Scorpio retrograde, Mars at 9° of Aquarius is conjunct Black Moon Lilith at 7° of Aquarius, and they both square retrograde Venus in Scorpio. This looks like lovers having secret affairs or competing with each other for affections.

Mars is deeply intertwined with Black Moon Lilith, both of them in rebellious and detached Aquarius. What this square to Venus implies an also mean a discovery of infidelity within a committed relationship, and by known persons, given Aquarius’s 11th house designation of friendships and connections. Women will fuel the dual natures of Venus and Black Moon Lilith pulling at them as well, and this could make for a romantically charged time with a great deal of friction in relationship.

A trine to Venus at 10° of Scorpio retrograde from Neptune at 14° Pisces will also suggest a greater potential for people to exercise poor judgment in love partners. Neptune will sweep us off our feet and the effect is lovely to behold – the danger of Neptune is like the tide comes in to sweep away the sand castle. We wake up to discover nothing left for us once the tide retreats.

We will be more prone to being lied to during this period or losing money through bad gambles.

Corollary to New Moon at 26° of Libra
October 19, 2017 ~ 03:12 pm EST / October 19, 2017 ~ 07:12 pm UST

You can read about this corollary lunation on the post at my website for free, here:
https://stars-by-design.com/2017/10/19/libra-new-moon-at-26-degrees-10-19-2017/

This full moon Libra at 10° occurs with Mercury heavily signified. Mercury, the messenger, is already in retrograde Aries at 12°, opposition to the Libra moon, and further intensified by a conjunction to the sun in Aries at 10°.

With Libra being the natural house of relationships and a cardinal sign, no doubt our home life, as exemplified by the more emotional moon, will be figured into our lives during this period. Our spouses, partner, others we relate to, whether casually or intensely, might be finding their way into our behind the scenes private life. Mercury is bound to throw the monkey wrench into our well-laid plans from his perch in the individual focused house of Aries. Retrograde, agreements and contracts are always fraught with problems during a retrograde period, but anything to do with the home life and relationships is going to be even more difficult. Planning a wedding? Wonderful! Hopefully the wedding was initiated outside the Mercury retrograde period – otherwise, keep careful track of dates and times and expect even with all that planning to go awry. Expect misunderstandings between spouses, friends, family, and issues surrounding the home. Now’s the time to hunker down and focus energy on anything left undone and Mercury will be friendlier to you.

We have an interesting aspect in the form of a conjunction between Venus at 0° Taurus in her dignity, and rebel Uranus at 27° Aries. Unexpected money or good fortune in the form of an asset/commodity – jewelry or precious metals, for instance – could find it’s way to you.

We have a series of harsh aspects forming in Capricorn, which is the 10th house of career and that which you’re known for, your reputation, rules, and the status quo. This is Saturn’s house by rulership, and also like Aries and Libra, Capricorn is a cardinal sign.

Under this full moon, Mars, the god of war, and Saturn, the melancholy disciplinarian, are making squares to sun, moon, and Mercury. Mars and Saturn meet in Capricorn, Mars at 7° and Saturn at 8°. This tell us that our lives, both public and private, will be affected and potentially shaken by pressure in our careers and life path. While we’re preoccupied with keeping our heads together in our home lives under Mercury’s retrograde, we will barely have space to breathe before we are confronted with new challenges. There might be a strict boss demanding more of us than they have a right to, but the reward the hard work promises might be too good to pass up.

Whatever the circumstance, make sure it’s equitable, be polite and politic, for any arguments with authoritative figures will likely not advance your career or go in your favor. Saturn demands work, hard work, so if you want to disentangle yourself, you’ll have to find a way to do it that respects authority and the rules. Conversely, if someone starts an argument with you, defuse it as quickly and politely as possible, for with hard squares to Mars, the energy of the physical is emphasized. Be careful while engaged in sports or labor, particularly if it involves your career.

Mars at 7° Capricorn squares the sun and 10° Aries, and squares Mercury at 12° Aries, retrograde, while Saturn at 8° Capricorn, squares the sun at 10° Aries, squares the moon at 10° Libra, and squares Mercury at 12° Aries, retrograde. This will result in an intense pressure across some of the most important aspects of our lives.

In addition, Mars at 7° Capricorn forms a semi-square to Jupiter at 22° Scorpio, indicating too that our lives could face challenges in our career and concerning the 8th house of Scorpio where Jupiter expands these sensibilities of taxes, debts, death, transformations, sex, and elimination. It could be that your work place is in transition, with an aggressive co-worker or boss complicating matters.

Black Moon Lilith at 15° Capricorn squares Mercury at 12° Aries, retrograde, and here too, the theme of career is emphasized and this square may highlight pernicious gossip, slander, or defamation.

The north node at 12° Leo offers support, however slight, with a trine to Mercury at 12° Aries retrograde, and trine the sun at 10° Aries. If we have a leadership position, we may be well favored, or favored by those in a leader role – either way, a fated event amidst the turmoil may give us a chance – or more possibly, require us to be leaders in our circumstances – it will be difficult, as the north node quest always is, but it will be necessary.

Lunations 2018

Libra New Moon at 26 Degrees, 10-19-2017

New Moon 10-19-2017

This new moon lunation occurs at 26 degrees of Libra, the sign of relationships and balance. Our emotional selves and ego selves will be inclined to be more social, touching base with our relationships and weighing how much we give and take in those relationships, both at home behind the scenes and in our more public lives.

Prominently, Uranus at 26 degrees of Aries, the bold pioneer sign at Libra’s polarity, will be in opposition to the sun and the moon, indicating the presence of the unexpected in our lives. An incident might provoke a contrarian reaction in relationships we thought were solid and sympatico, and it tests the boundaries of relationships and marriages and what it means to be independent of those. Uranus wants rebellion, Uranus wants to question, and most of all, he wants to progress us to new territory. We may be forced to choose between the safe comfort of old friends, and the shocking exhilaration of abandoning the status quo to either be by ourselves or to find different company. Or, more likely, our friends may decide they no longer want our company — the choice is not always up to us, and that is the nature of relationships — we cannot control those around us. Uranus has the potential to bring us to a new place in how we relate to people, but the arrival may be shocking and unexpected in its delivery.

In addition, early this month Jupiter made his yearly change through the signs, releasing  Libra to enter into Scorpio. We may find our lives touched by intensity, by uncompromising courage, a desire to do all and achieve more by delving deeply into all we apply ourselves to. Mercury, the planet of communication, of messages, of short trips and siblings, will conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio at 3 degrees of Scorpio, giving all our of communications a new degree of depth — we may be compelled to reveal secrets or others confess secrets to us, we may discover deep manipulation involved in our self-expressions or our conversations with others. Jupiter wants optimism, though, and at worst will blind himself to the dangers of manipulations around him. We will want to talk deeply, magnetically, and sexually, and all things in the house of Scorpio.

Mars, the planet exemplifying men and war, is still transiting Virgo at 28 degrees. Venus has surpassed him, and now he chases her ’round the zodiac, giving a new flavor to relationships between the feminine and masculine. Mars at 28 degrees Virgo squares Saturn at 23 degrees Sagittarius, suggesting our physical actions or health may be at odds with an authority, a structure, or institution. As a for instance, I have a friend who registered for a tournament — and did not realize she would have to submit a blood test! There could be no better embodiment of Mars aspect in Virgo (blood test, analysis) and a Saturn in Sagittarius (a sparring tournament, the tournament itself representing the institution.)

Mars will also form an inconjunct with Uranus at 26 degrees Aries, and so the needs of self (Aries) and the needs of service (Virgo) will have difficulty aligning in a comfortable fashion. If we used the Mars energy in Virgo to pick up new exercise or health regimens, we might have to develop a coping mechanism for Uranus’s nervous energy that threatens to upset our gains. Perhaps it will be as simple as wanting to pursue something, a one-time opportunity, which clashes with our current schedule. This will require some level of juggling on our part.

Aries Full Moon, 10-5-2017

aries full moon 10-5

This full moon lunation occurs at 12 degrees of the 1st house of Aries. The emphasis will be on the Aries-Libra axis of the zodiac, highlighting how we navigate our relationship to self and our relationships to others.

Mercury at 10 degrees Libra will be conjunct the sun. We can expect communications and travel to revolve around those close to us, taking day trips with one’s partner, or a general increased social life. We are in high demand by others, and find validation and comfort in the company of others.

Venus is in her fall at 19 degrees of Virgo, a sign that Venus has trouble expressing her natural affection in. Money and resources may not flow so smoothly, either. Women may find themselves giving and giving in service to something else, only to feel it goes nowhere and to nothing. With Virgo emphasizing service, work, health and exercise, it might be a good time to hit the gym to burn off any anxieties that should arise.

To add to the incentive to physical activity, Mars will be conjuncting Venus at 19 degrees of Virgo. Since Venus’s retrograde earlier this year in 2017, Mars and Venus have been chasing each other around the zodiac; now they meet once more. Mars can give extra force to those Virgo qualities, making it easier to set up the to-do lists and get organized. Where Venus is uncomfortable in Virgo, Mars will come forth to carry her, for soon enough, Venus will pass him, and Mars will commence to chase her for the remainder of the year. There may be unexpected relationships between men and women, but with Venus in Virgo, not necessarily a good time for love or progression in relationships.

Mars and Venus conjunct at 19 degrees of Virgo also faces two significant aspects: a trine to Pluto at 16 degrees of Capricorn, and square to Saturn at 22 degrees of Sagittarius. There is a suggestion here of constriction and contraction, further emphasizing a feeling of spinning one’s wheels and not moving anywhere. With the Pluto trine and the Mars and Venus conjunction, couples may undergo transformation of some sort, and relationships of various sorts may not survive if those involved are not committed to making sacrifices. With Mercury absorbing much of this Virgo energy through rulership, and occupying Libra, talking over prickly relationship matters may not go well, and it also may not be avoidable, as the sun insists we focus our will there, in the 7th house of marriage and relationships. It could be the Big Breakup — or, more likely, it could be the beginning of a brand new chase, since Mars will be running after Venus soon enough.

Jupiter at 28 degrees of Libra is about to make his big shift this month into Scorpio. This could also be amplifying relationship issues, as Jupiter’s force is one of expansion. When Jupiter shifts sign, the time-debt will be paid, and the conventional wisdom is that when one planet leaves and enters a new sign, we are left with a “gift”. Keep that in mind this month as significant changes often happen under the force of the lunation, and it would seem to me that marriage and relationship issues are definitely huge for this full moon. People are going to be making decisions between their ego-selves and their relationship-other. Jupiter will also be in opposition to Uranus at 27 degrees of Aries, where the moon is also transiting, emphasizing the rift between these two polarities. Uranus will deliver the shocks and surprises, and he will want to enable rebellion, not stifle it. Proud Jupiter is not, mythologically speaking, much for restraint, and his huge ego could make gambles that cause more harm than good.

Pluto at 16 degrees Capricorn also squares the sun and moon. There may be challenges that force us to reconsider our home life, our private life, and our public life. When we go to solve them, we may find only more obstacles and this can lead us down a hard road to transformation.

Saturn at 22 degrees of Sagittarius will also trine the North Node at 21 degrees of Leo. While this lunation certainly suggests to me a great deal of struggles are imminent for relationships in general, a good dose of the Leonine generosity, big-heartedness, and leading by example would be a good course to pursue to try to keep things light and in perspective. It will be very much needed, and yet, also difficult to maintain, but should find support from steadfast Saturn, as well as Black Moon Lilith at 26 degrees of Sagittarius.

Libra Full Moon of 4-11-2017

4-11-2017 Full Moon

The emerging theme of this moon is how an abundance of relationships moves into a process of elimination, as the full moon in Libra at 21 degrees, moves into Scorpio hours later at 6:42 pm, EST.

This Libra moon retreats from a conjunction with Jupiter Rx at 17 degrees of Libra, while this moon also squares Pluto in Capricorn at 19 degrees. We are blessed with sociability but the Pluto square overshadows our connections with the flavors of Scorpionic intensity, particularly with moon’s looming passage into Scorpio. Friendships have their good times, their bright, happy moments in which we perceive people who make us feel good as angels — yet, as we move past the superficiality of relationships and delve deeper, our relationships maturing in the process, we can often discover our angels have their dark sides, and at our worst, find we are surrounded by pernicious demons instead.

Of course, those are very stark, binary terms to describe the human experience of friends and the relationships they provide — but this is often how we perceive things in relationship to the self. What does not please us is evil, what supports our self-esteem is instantly good. It takes strength, time, and tempering of the soul to recognize and forgive both others and ourselves when our ideals are not met. The person who matures in a truly soulful way, is not a person who insists on looking at their friends with rose colored glasses, but who can identify what kind of relationships they can live with, and what kind they can live without, and can do so without the need to demonize or idolize those that rise or fall short. Pluto speaks of transformation — and we are always in an act of transformation, for if we do not, we are eternally stuck in the process of elimination. As we transform, the kind of relationships we choose — or fail to choose — will transform along side us.

Transforming relationships can sometimes reveal more than we expected, with Uranus in Aries opposite this Jupiter and Moon in Libra. Perhaps we shock our friends by not adhereing to the role they assigned to us — perhaps our friendships are hiding secret desires (Venus Rx) or perhaps we become too attached to how good our friends make us feel, distracting us from our troubles and inviting us to try to coerce or control (Pluto/Moon square) the good times that are no longer there. The moon will invite emotional attachments to rise to the surface.

These relationship dynamics, how we come together, fall apart, navigate and maintain, is all under the domain of Libra, Venus in her current retrograde, and 7th house matters. Friends and connections belong under the scope of the 11th house, of Aquarius and Uranus — expect these subjects to be key features under this moon. Uranus at 24 degrees of Aries, also squares the Libra moon.

Saturn’s gravity will help to reign in Jupiter’s over the top expansion, providing a soft anchor. Venus, even though in retrograde, is in Pisces and will be better positioned for compassionate love than she was in masculine Aries. Saturn’s trines underlies the current, more prominent features of this chart, trining the Sun in Aries, Uranus in Aries, and Mercury in Aries, as well as the North Node at 0 degrees of Virgo — like the kind hand of a father, directing the child (Aries) back to a rational path with hard work, foundations, and clear sight.
