Grand Fire Trine, Sagittarius Full Moon 6-9-2017

Sagittarius Full Moon

This full moon is shaping up to have the heady swiftness of the last new moon, another Grand Fire Trine forming with the Moon in Sagittarius and the Sun in Gemini. This fire trine forms between Saturn in Sagittarius at 24 degrees, Uranus in Aries at 27 degrees, and the North Node in Leo at 27 degrees.

Trines increase the velocity of energy, so we can expect relevant events affected by these planets and hours to increase in speed and impact. In the case of the node, the head of the dragon where our karmic future lies in the sign of creative expression and fun, now might be a nice time to engage ourselves in the drama of the moment. All the world is a stage — so act accordingly to make the most of it! With the moon sharing space with Saturn, the lord of restraint and constraints, it might bring with it a strange feeling of opposites — the emotional mood of the moon will pull Saturn’s frown upright, as happy-go-lucky Sagittarius wants more fun and the energy of the trine will be hard to suppress with Uranus in Aries continuing to throw surprises out of left field, emphasizing the needs of the self. With the sun in Gemini and moon in Sagittarius polarity, travel may feature, communications will be dynamic and lead to surprises and shifts in circumstances. Hopefully, you behaved yourself while Mars was in Gemini and your mouth didn’t get you into trouble, or else you’ll be dealing with the fallout from that New Moon Grand Fire Trine last month.

The trine is the best part of the moon. What we have left are the clashing energies of inconjuncts, squares, and semi-squares, most notably, the influence of Jupiter in Libra at 13 degrees inconjunct Neptune at 14 degrees Pisces. Our expanding friends, connections, relationships are unable to mediate with Neptune’s foggy and inconsistent nature in Pisces. People will be attempting to keep the difficult parts of their lives separate, trying to maintain their relationships while giving themselves to addiction, escapism, or maybe someone is lying to themselves about the kind of relationships they’re willing to maintain or tolerate. In either case, one can feel the tension of the inconjunct any time the needs of balance in relationship clash with the wishy-washiness of Neptune who might not be too into facing up to the hard decisions. Running and hiding might be a tempting solution, but something here too, is preventing relief.

Pluto at 18 degrees of Capricorn is also inconjunct the Gemini Sun, 18 degrees. Power and authority might be forming a schism to the Gemini desire for novelty and hunger to communicate. Capricorn is Saturn’s home field, and will wait out the impatient younger sign of the Twins. Impulses may have to be stymied in favor of the prevailing status quo.

We come up against hard squares under this full moon with Neptune in Pisces at 14 degrees, square the Sagittarius moon and the Gemini sun. Black Lilith at 12 degrees Sagittarius is also square Neptune in Pisces. With all these aspects forming to Neptune in Pisces, it suggests that hard decisions are coming for those who have been lying to themselves about a difficult situation, perhaps an overindulgence has taken over a person’s life and become a full blown addiction, or maybe a belief that drove actions and decisions in the past is being dissolved — leaving behind feelings of betrayal and anger. The time has come to take a new course and change direction, and it’s a good time to gather information under this Gemini Sun and to better get our bearings.

Semi-squares join the fray. Notably, Venus at 3 degrees of Taurus semi-square Neptune in Pisces. Venus is very happy in the sign she rules, Taurus, so this semi-square will be complicated by issues of wealth, of material needs and security, perhaps more so than anything romantic. Perhaps a promise of increase in wealth, a spoken for reward, something is held up, whether it’s by deliberate deception, or more likely, the neglect of someone else’s poor decisions. Difficulties with no easy solutions may make themselves known, creating a knot of problems with the flow of money or resources, or a project just won’t finish completion and the wheels keep spinning, spinning. Taurus’s endurance is the best thing to have during a difficult time. Be patient, and see your way to the other side of the semi-square.

Gemini New Moon, 5-25-2017

New Moon 5-25-2017

A lovely grand fire trine is forming during the sun and moon’s passage through Gemini, and should make for swift and satisfying communications. The North Node in Leo, Uranus in Aries, and Saturn in Sagittarius are all in accordance. We flow smoothly from place to place, transmitting ideas and being readily understood, our messages are clear and understandable. Contracts are exchanged, agreements struck, and moving from place to place and enjoying the novel and the new comes easy and carefree. All these things under the auspices of Gemini and Mercury should find favor.

That’s not to say this moon does not have its share of complications — as with everything, we have some harder aspects to deal with, but I know with my business and financial interests firmly rooted in audio and creative writing, I’ll be sure to initiate projects to give them that extra oomph! Especially with Mercury in Taurus, Taurus will make your projects long lasting and unlike Geminis often flighty tendency to move on to the new interesting flavor of the moment, Taurus has the steam and endurance to see things through to the end.  This is a boon to work that requires both an initiatory spirit and a need for refining and crafting.

Now that we’ve highlighted the good, let’s look at the not so good.

Pushy Venus at 19 degrees of Aries may indicate a fast and furious romance that goes against the grain of more conservative and cautious Capricorn, where Pluto at 19 degrees squares. Capricorn is going to want to iron out the details and Pluto isn’t going to give up control or stop digging for the underlying meaning of things. Add in Black Moon Lillith in Sagittarius at 11 degrees, who is squared by Neptune at 14 degrees of Pisces, and it suggests that romances initiated under this moon are going to be plagued by both the benefits and the downsides of magnetic sexuality — sometimes, we rush in to satisfy pleasure without considering the consequences. This act-now think-later attitude will certainly yield an affair to remember given the Venus in Aries heat, and the Lillith in Sagittarius magnetism, where Saturn is struggling to keep a lid on the happy-go-lucky archer. Those squares to Pluto and Neptune, though, suggest all the sticky complications of a love affair gone wrong, an extra marital affair, infidelity, power struggles, and all the lying such situations tend to generate. Of course, this might also figure in more than only love, but also money.

If these squares with their clashing energy weren’t potent enough, we have further semi-squares, creating aftershocks and stall points that are less easily resolved.

In particular, Venus in Aries semi-square the Gemini sun and moon, and Mercury in Taurus semi-square Mars in Gemini, also suggest, in spite of the burning power of this Grand Fire Trine, we may encounter that what course of action we decide upon under this new moon now creates a domino effect of unforeseen consequences; projects which begin with great promise might not complete to schedule, but bear this in mind — this is not necessarily a negative! Consider that a writer, initiating a creative project, might end up going through steep and rigorous edits, all of which give the sensation of spinning wheels in a rut, but which, over the course of months, bears a great deal of fruit in the form of awards or recognition, or increased pay. Use this Grand Fire Trine well!

I advise anyone to take on the qualities of Mercury and be ready to think on your feet to counter the difficult aspects of the semi-squares.

Less palatable is the opposition forming between Mars in Gemini and Saturn in Sagittarius. We might have to face up to responsibilities for our quick words or decisions, or deal with clashes with authority figures and arguments that spring up around them. This may be the case where you know you’re right, but someone who holds power refuses to acknowledge they are in the wrong, and it costs you. This is the time for swallowing your pride and picking your battles, and you may have to choose diplomacy over valor.

Lastly, a Taurus Mercury inconjunct Jupiter in Libra might have us sticking to our guns when we should be compromising with our friends or in our relationships, and as a result, we don’t quite see eye to eye. Taurean inflexibility will not smooth things over in your personal life, as fluid Mercury is better when he exerts his mercurial spirit. Be willing to bend to influence, for if you cannot bend, the inconjunct might force you to break! Be generous with your spirit and your words to and these should blend nicely with the Grand Fire Trine and help you sidestep the less desireable effects of the inconjunct.

Full Moon in Scorpio, 5-10-2017

5-10-2017 Full MoonAs with so much of life, sometimes our lives move fast and sometimes they slow; sometimes our journey is filled with unexpected stops and starts as we struggle to reach a destination, to complete a project.

The Scorpio Full Moon speaks to an element of completion, corresponding to the cycle begun with the New Moon in Scorpio in October of 2016. Consider the passage of events from that moment to now — what have you accomplished? If you chose to initiate an action then, or failed to, you may see the benefits or consequences of that initiation now.

During this cycle, I was able to launch an audio narration career, beginning in October, and my efforts are just now coming to fruition at this full moon. (I’ll be voicing Jordan Taylor’s wonderful short story of a young girl’s struggle to come to terms with her magickal abilities as a chambermaid at a Victorian boarding school in Common Magick, over at the Gallery of Curiosities podcast. Do give it a listen, they have many other wonderful stories as well.)

The opposite of Scorpio is where we find the sun in Taurus. Perhaps between the sun in Taurus and Venus steaming along through Aries, you find yourself involved in money matters, material issues, wealth and value, and manifestation — all 2nd house themes that are the natural domicile of Taurus. The moon in Scorpio underlies this with examinations of how we put our material goods to use, where our money is going or coming from, and what it might mean to us on a spiritual level.

We ought to consider what Pluto is up to, since he is the natural ruler of Scorpio,  and the energy of the moon will be in service to Pluto by rulership. Pluto gives us a trine to the Sun in Taurus from his position at 19 degrees Capricorn. The trine indicates velocity. Perhaps months of hard work finally pay off with a promotion — or a firing, or a lay off. For either good or ill, the result may culminate in a release of previously frustrating energies. Perhaps a payment comes through that was held up. Perhaps a friend finally comes clean about an issue. Maybe old debts are paid off in one final stroke, a break up happens, a divorce is settled — whatever it is, expect one’s home and heart to be tied to it, for where we find the moon is where our emotional core will be most vulnerable.

In addition, the Scorpio moon trines Neptune in Pisces; expect emotions to be fully engaged. Intense connections may form, fueled by the extra-communicative energy of Mars in Gemini. With Jupiter in Libra trining this Mars energy, it could be a great time for groups or friends to link up and be cooperative, or just a wonderful sense of togetherness and comraderie all around as people turn to each other in a supportive capacity. Expect inspired late night conversations that erupt over cups of coffee and bleary-eyed, 3 am talks about the meaning of life, bonding people together on a visceral level. (Just make sure you’re drinking coffee when you get ready to drive home — drinking and driving is never recommended, but with Scorpio Moon and Neptune in Pisces and Mars under the influence of Mercury’s house of Gemini, perhaps even more so in this instance. Skip drinking all together.)

And of course, there are always squares to contend with. What stress can we expect with this full moon? Some of it will be familiar to you, and old news by now: we still have ongoing squares between Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Libra, but with a square from Mercury at 26 degrees of Aries also thrown in for good measure. Perhaps while you were busy talking about the meaning of life and the universe in your Mars in Gemini fueled excitement, someone else remained silent and feels left out, or conversely, Uranus with Mercury in Aries provokes someone to reveal something shocking or say something offensive. Whether that ends up being you or a friend, attend to your relationships, but expect friction to accompany those good times.

The North Node is firmly in Leo territory, leaving behind the house of work and service for the house of royalty and creativity and fun. The Node trines Uranus in Aries, Saturn in Sagittarius, and Mercury in Aries. You may find support from and elder, a father figure, or unexpected good news comes your way, helping you achieve an uncomfortable task — for the North Node is where the universe directs us to face our challenges and achieve our quests. It is not always easy, but these trines will move your decisions along faster, whatever they may be. Perhaps you’re starting a business, an enterprise firmly in Leo territory — now is a good time to reach out for help, and don’t be afraid to ask for guidance.

Lastly, I’ve been looking with a closer eye to Black Moon Lilith, and want to invite her to the party — and it looks like she is down for some dirty dancing with a magnetic trine to Venus in Aries, and a square to Neptune in Pisces, and an opposition to Mars in Gemini. Friction between the sexes might be on the menu, and Lilith might end up hearing promises from her paramours that dissipate come morning when all the dancing is over. Happy go lucky Sagittarius might throw the party, but the self-deception of Neptune and Venus at her detriment in me-first Aries sows the seeds of regret later.

Keep in mind your natal planets and positions, as every lunation holds in store an individual journey.

Taurus New Moon, April 26

4-26-2017 Taurus New Moon

The new moon in Taurus will be a pleasant opportunity to increase emphasis on beauty and wealth in our lives. Venus rules Taurus and Libra, and now that she is in forward motion in her exalted state in Pisces, and the sun has also crossed into Taurus, we can breathe a sigh of relief from the last contentious full moon and enjoy that Taurean flair for aesthetics and the simple art of being.

There may be a theme of compassionate healing, the presence of a tender or a nurturing mentor here as well, since Chiron is conjunct Venus at 29 degrees Pisces — perhaps a healing is at last achieved after long suffering, an insight gained, or a gentle passage from someone’s guiding influence, as full health means they will no longer be needed. With healing comes the release of old pain at the 29th degree of endings.

Saturn at the Galactic Center of 27 degrees Sagittarius, also aspects Venus. This square could manifest in a difficulty or obstacle — perhaps a relationship needs attending to; with Mercury retrograde in the mix, we may overlook a key component to our carefully laid plains, forget an important date, or perhaps a contract was not completed as it should have been. Saturn and Venus will demand our loving attention to maintain our structures, telling us not to put off for tomorrow what must be done today.

Virgo — that house of work, service, and the daily routine — will drive that point home as the Node passes into the 0 degree of Virgo and forms trines to Uranus in Aries, Mercury in Aries, Saturn in Sagittarius, the moon in Taurus, the sun in Taurus — and if those trines weren’t enough, there’s a square to Mars in Gemini! Work, exercise, look after your health. Venus and Taurus energies will encourage a work/life balance — though you might find yourself having extra tasks put upon you, or perhaps you’ve volunteered for it, or are looking to change jobs. Under this Mercury in retrograde, this desire might frustrate you and things not go so smoothly as planned.

Pluto squares up to Uranus and Mercury in Aries, and Jupiter in Libra. Jupiter’s presence in a Venus ruled sign like Libra will emphasize and add power to our relationships in their loving aspect, but with Pluto squaring, we may still have some hard decisions to make about who we keep in our lives. In feisty Aries, Mercury and Uranus will make our communications bold, further fueled by Mars in Gemini. our communications are fast and furious, and even playful — taken too far in Aries mode, we risk stepping on toes and being selfish, inadvertantly offending. Go with kindness, as Venus in her current state has the power to offset the harshness of Mars and Aries as she is the mistress of flattery, and she will calm Pluto’s merciless drive to inject too much intensity into our words.

Libra Full Moon of 4-11-2017

4-11-2017 Full Moon

The emerging theme of this moon is how an abundance of relationships moves into a process of elimination, as the full moon in Libra at 21 degrees, moves into Scorpio hours later at 6:42 pm, EST.

This Libra moon retreats from a conjunction with Jupiter Rx at 17 degrees of Libra, while this moon also squares Pluto in Capricorn at 19 degrees. We are blessed with sociability but the Pluto square overshadows our connections with the flavors of Scorpionic intensity, particularly with moon’s looming passage into Scorpio. Friendships have their good times, their bright, happy moments in which we perceive people who make us feel good as angels — yet, as we move past the superficiality of relationships and delve deeper, our relationships maturing in the process, we can often discover our angels have their dark sides, and at our worst, find we are surrounded by pernicious demons instead.

Of course, those are very stark, binary terms to describe the human experience of friends and the relationships they provide — but this is often how we perceive things in relationship to the self. What does not please us is evil, what supports our self-esteem is instantly good. It takes strength, time, and tempering of the soul to recognize and forgive both others and ourselves when our ideals are not met. The person who matures in a truly soulful way, is not a person who insists on looking at their friends with rose colored glasses, but who can identify what kind of relationships they can live with, and what kind they can live without, and can do so without the need to demonize or idolize those that rise or fall short. Pluto speaks of transformation — and we are always in an act of transformation, for if we do not, we are eternally stuck in the process of elimination. As we transform, the kind of relationships we choose — or fail to choose — will transform along side us.

Transforming relationships can sometimes reveal more than we expected, with Uranus in Aries opposite this Jupiter and Moon in Libra. Perhaps we shock our friends by not adhereing to the role they assigned to us — perhaps our friendships are hiding secret desires (Venus Rx) or perhaps we become too attached to how good our friends make us feel, distracting us from our troubles and inviting us to try to coerce or control (Pluto/Moon square) the good times that are no longer there. The moon will invite emotional attachments to rise to the surface.

These relationship dynamics, how we come together, fall apart, navigate and maintain, is all under the domain of Libra, Venus in her current retrograde, and 7th house matters. Friends and connections belong under the scope of the 11th house, of Aquarius and Uranus — expect these subjects to be key features under this moon. Uranus at 24 degrees of Aries, also squares the Libra moon.

Saturn’s gravity will help to reign in Jupiter’s over the top expansion, providing a soft anchor. Venus, even though in retrograde, is in Pisces and will be better positioned for compassionate love than she was in masculine Aries. Saturn’s trines underlies the current, more prominent features of this chart, trining the Sun in Aries, Uranus in Aries, and Mercury in Aries, as well as the North Node at 0 degrees of Virgo — like the kind hand of a father, directing the child (Aries) back to a rational path with hard work, foundations, and clear sight.

New Moon in Aries 3/27/2017, Impressions

lunation 3-27

On March 27 we have a series of interesting aspects under this New Moon at 7 degrees of Aries. Aries, the first sign, the me-first sign, ego-centered and self-affirming, pushy and bold.

What stands out in this lunation is the presence of the North Node at 1 degree of Virgo, preparing to cross into Leo. At the apex of the sky here in the North East, the Dragon’s Head is calling us to leadership — will you answer? Will you square up to accountability, to take the crown — and the responsibility that comes with it? If you think events revolving around White House politics have been interesting, hold onto your seat, for the Node is transiting fixed star Regulus, as this “kingmaker” star is prominent in Trump’s chart. However, I think the Node’s placement has a message for all of us — to lead, and to lead well, to stop looking for others to resolve the challenges put before us and come to terms with all that it entails — that life often asks us to lead in the face of unfair circumstances and waiting for someone else to do it is not always an option. Meet your challenges, and what better aspect than the moon in Aries to support you? When our leaders fail us, we are called to be leaders in our own lives.

However, this call goes unheard in the general public, as evidenced by the opposition to Neptune in Pisces. We long to escape from the difficulties of life, and for some, this escape is necessary, and for some, it is merely prolonging our suffering and agony.

In Aries we have a very dark and deep Venus in retrograde telling her story of love’s fortunes — her transformation into the morning star begins as she disappears from the sky on March 18 and reappears as the morning star on March 31 at 1 degree Aries. In absence, does she grieve for profound unrequited love, or is she gearing up for a bold and ruthless liasion as evidenced by the supportive trine with Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius? Seducers are afoot this period, some people will be having the kind of romance soap operas are made of, complete with dramatic conclusions.

Mars and Venus are in mutual reception, both being in the signs ruled by the other, Taurus and Aries respectively. Take note, Venus is challenged by old man Saturn, squaring her from Sagittarius. Expressions of love and affection are already suffering under the retrograde, and Saturn will constrain Venus’s warmth. Love must be clever, kind, and patient to bear with the challenges of this period.

Jupiter in Libra is also a strong feature, since Libra’s natural ruler is Venus. Jupiter is still in ongoing opposition to Uranus in Aries, and Mercury is also passing Uranus in Aries. Expect intensifying communications, active sociability among burgeoning friendships, and as always, use words with common sense and consideration lest Jupiter’s expansiveness and Uranus’s delight in shocking others causes you to open mouth and insert foot.

At this time, Pluto in Capricorn at 19 degrees is forming squares to Uranus, Mercury in Aries and Jupiter in Libra. Pluto’s agreeable alliance with Saturn in Sagittarius will make Pluto’s desire for control and power well-focused; with Venus in retrograde also afflicting relationships, take stock of your friends and make sure the people you surround yourself with are the type of people you want in your life — not those seeking to take from you or leverage your time, effort, love, or wealth for their own needs.

Conversely, if your friends have been fractious lately, you may find this an excellent opportunity to learn  skills of politics and diplomacy that are often the keystone to how we unlock success and get along in civilized society — usually a gift that develops later in life. Meet challenges in your friendships to develop it now. Saturn’s supportive trine to the Node will lend strength, and the adventurous and bold moon in Aries give steam to meeting challenges.

Full Moon in Virgo, 3-12-2017, Impressions

Virgo Full Moon 3-12

I’m trying out this awesome new software from OpenAstro.org for Linux. (I’m still getting used to it!)

On this Virgo full moon, the prominent aspect is Mercury in Pisces at 27 degrees moving into exact square to Saturn in Sagitarrius at 27 degrees.

Their are several oppositions and squares at play during this full moon in Virgo the natural ruler of the sixth house, the sign of work, day to day concerns, daily tasks, health, organization, pets, and exercise. Let’s highlight those of interest one by one:

The North Node (Rahu/Dragon’s Head) at 2 degrees of Virgo is also conjunct fixed star Regulus, off by 1 orb. Regulus conveyed great fortune to a native by raising them high above the state they were born into, but equally capable of bringing about a proportionate “fall”. Traditionally in Leo, due to the precession of the equinoxes, Regulus passed from Leo to Virgo in 2012. The North Node, taken to represent our karmic future and soul’s quest, always moves backward, and thus is preparing to align with that star as it moves through the beginning degrees of Virgo to pass into Leo.

With this shift we should keep in mind that there is often a release — whatever theme, task, challenge, mission, or debt the sign placed upon you comes to an end. What does this portend as the North Node comes conjunct the “Kingmaker” star? Look to the kings and queens in your life, or how you might be assuming a kingship yourself, or are you meant — or failing — to take leadership in the area that Virgo applies to in your nativity?

Saturn is our big mover and shaker in 27 degrees of Sagitarrius, and is at the center of three squares. He forms loose squares to the Virgo moon and the Pisces sun at about 5 degree orb, making it a softer aspect. However, the intense aspect here is Pisces Mercury forming an exact square to Saturn in Sagitarrius at the 27 degree mark.

Ironically, I’m already getting a taste of this myself. In gathering my birth certificate and other incidentals, I discovered my birth certificate did not include the names of my parents and would be useless to me in my efforts to apply for a passport (which Sagitarrius rules, being the natural 9th house which rules foreign travel.) The lady who I made an appointment with to look over this paperwork completely forgot we had an appointment, and was an hour late to meet me — reminiscent of Mercury in retrograde, though in this case, what we have is a very sleepy, Pisces Mercury who is dropping the ball under Neptune’s influence. This miscommunication has forced me to jump through bureaucratic hoops to sort these papers out. Saturn in Sagitarrius would be proud!

Expect miscommunications in similar vein to the themes of the Neptune/Saturn square we experienced recently, only on a smaller scale, this time with Mercury in watery Pisces, perhaps dreaming too much, lets his mouth run away with him or makes promises he can’t deliver when Saturn puts his hand up to silence the noise. You might be called to deliver on those promises or contracts after all.

Politically, this might make for some interesting occurrences as we have a president notorious for off-the-cuff remarks and a news media that has more to gain from “infotainment” than value-driven news reporting that characterized journalistic standards of the past. Mercury, the ruler of journalists and writers, will make his presence known during this square in those fields.

In addition to those squares with Saturn, we have several loose squares to Pluto, who is transiting Capricorn at 19 degrees. Capricorn, an earth sign along with Virgo. Prominent squares to Pluto are Jupiter in Libra at 21 degrees, and Uranus in Aries at 22 degrees.

Pluto is also trine the Virgo moon, but wherever Pluto is involved, expect to have your mettle tested, even under “favorable” aspects like trines. Since Pluto is in Capricorn, which is Saturn’s house, we must look to where Saturn occupies the chart, as this is where Pluto is driving his energy.

This Plutonic power, therefore, feeds into the Mercury/Saturn square — while many have found Pluto in Capricorn to be a difficult aspect, citing the 2008 financial crises as being a part of Pluto’s movement into Capricorn, I find that there is no better planetary influence than Saturn for harnessing the immense power of Pluto — Pluto takes to Saturn’s discipline, which we sorely need lest Pluto rage without control.

This Mercury in Pisces is also in loose opposition to the Virgo moon — Virgo wants to keep emotions tight and within well defined boundaries, but the urge for the Virgin to “confess” under Mercury’s dreamy influence might undermine attempts at efficiency where Virgo is concerned. Idle gossip at work could backfire! Naturally, where the natal house positions fall under these signs for the native, comes into play.

Mars in Taurus forms a loose trine between Saturn in Sagitarrius and the North Node in Virgo, and will be making himself known best by channelling his martial aspect into endurance and aggressively hunting down investments and things of value. This will be doubly important as Venus is currently in retrograde, at her detriment, but she rules the signs of Taurus and Libra, and so both these signs carry special weight on their own — Mars in Taurus to emphasize the active pursuit of beauty and value, and Jupiter in Libra, asking us to see to our relationships and maintain those friendships, for when all else fails, we will need people we trust around us.

Yet, with Venus in retrograde until April, this will present challenges in how we deal with our friendships, our relationships — romantic ventures will likely stutter and stall, for those of you expecting sparks, and with tax season coming up, I’ve already heard reports of people falling victim to identity theft and having their tax return end up in the hands of a thief. Here, there seems a perfect conjunction of nefarious pursuits indicating Venus’s interests and Mars in Taurus, alongside the Saturn/Mercury square and Pluto.

If you broke up with someone under the influence of the solar eclipse previously, they will likely boomerang during Venus in retrograde.

If all this seems like a confusing cosmic soup, take heart: a good way to deal with these tensions and pressures is to take a hint from the glorious Venus, that mistress of love. Move slowly. Take your time. Speak less, and when you do, do it with consideration and grace. The Taurus Mars will also want to move with the slow endurance of the bull, that ancient fertility symbol, seeking to smell the roses. Yet, a chance to reconnect with friends under this Jupiter in Libra period, is also conducive to a Venus in retrograde period. Shake out those old dresses you’ve forgotten about. Throw a tea party, gather the women in your life, and celebrate them — the Virgo full moon will add her female energy to the mix, and don’t take anything anyone says too seriously.

Aquarius New Moon, 1-27-2017 – Impressions

new-moon-2-27-2017

Impressions of the Aquarius New Moon, 1-27-2017

Jupiter in Libra expands our relationships in both breadth and depth. Those born with Pluto in Libra will feel the aggravating effect of expansive Jupiter as he touches on Pluto’s decades old shadow set during the late ’70’s and early ’80’s, all grown up now in this divisive era where equality (Libra) and power (Pluto) in relationships between people and between governments is more meaningful than ever. Both of these planets will be “owned” by Venus, since Libra is Venus’s home by rulership, and Venus in Pisces stands but a short 5 degrees from Mars. Mars cuts a path to Uranus in Aries, laying down his jacket in the mud so Venus can walk across it unsoiled. He waxes strong in his approach to Aries, where is energy is turbo charged.

Uranus in Aries forms an opposition to Jupiter in Libra, also agitating the Pluto in Libra generation, pushing and pulling them between their community ties (Libra) and the needs of the individual (Aries).

Moon and Sun conjunct in Aquarius, Uranus’s home sign, also adds to this revolutionary atmosphere — hearts and minds are bent on setting us free from limitations, our own ego and emotions. However, Pluto and Mercury conjunct in Capricorn, where Saturn constrains Pluto and Mercury, set off a square between Uranus and Jupiter. What is spoken may hide secrets and information not fully revealed in the halls of power. People will be silenced or punished for what is said, or what is said may set off greater consequences cascading from here on in. (Recent accounts formed on Twitter by government agencies after the Trump ban come to mind as a perfect example of this square.)

A further square with Saturn to Venus and Mars oversees this, demanding rules but Saturn, you see, is undermined in Sagittarius since this is Jupiter’s home sign. Thus, Saturn is forced to overcome his own restraint and wants eagerly to join the party. He cannot help but be tempted by Jupiter’s lovely Libran/Venus born energy as he forms a sextile, diluting the square he forms to Venus and Mars, which is already interrupted by the Sun and Moon conjunct in between, while in rebellious Aquarius. Good luck, Saturn, on keeping your stern demeanor and your control! But then, when Saturn does choose to cut loose, he can throw a helluva party (Saturnalia.) Authority figures may well be asking themselves this very question — is it time to hold fast to the law, or time to throw off the restraints and build anew? You may find the rebellious new moon wants you to build anew.

Cancer Full Moon of 1-12-2017, Impressions

screenshot-from-2017-01-10-101149

I sat down with a piece of paper to jot down my impressions of the full moon chart, applicable to the American north-east region in particular.

  • Uranus 20 degrees/Eris 22 degrees in Aries
  • Pluto 17 degrees /Sun 22 degrees in Capricorn
  • Moon, exalted, at 22 degrees
  • Jupiter in Libra, 22 degrees

Each planet stationed in their native Cardinal signs of 1st, 10th, 4th and 7th houses.

Yikes!

Great stress and tension affects us on a personal, private, and public level. Let us touch on the prominent aspects.

People long for the comforts of home as stoked by the full moon in Cancer, but the economic storm being ridden hard by Pluto in Capricorn has destroyed this ideal and now wherever we find ourselves is our home — no matter how unlikely, surprising, or unbearable it may be. We may be in a state of flux, happy with our situations, or trapped here until the moon cycle completes.

Jupiter is expanding Plutonic aspects for those born during the Pluto in Libra generation of the late ’70s, early ’80s. A desire for equality, fairness, demands for justice will be voiced and desires to control social situations and the behavior of others will be pronounced. The best expression of this expanding power of Jupiter in Libra, touching on Pluto’s old tracks, will be seduction and charm — think marketing, advertising, or romantic conquest in the name of love — at its worst, it will be confidence games exacerbated by a semi-square with Neptune in Pisces, giving steam to illusion. Think too, of others who will “cry wolf” with and eye toward advancing ulterior motives.

Uranus and Eris within 2 degrees in Aries also opposes Jupiter in Libra — a schism of the individual needs versus the community is represented here, where we will do anything to get our way or preserve what fills our ego needs, inviting the Goddess of Discord to work hand in hand with the planet of rebellion. I am reminded of a saying, “Don’t go looking for trouble — trouble knows where to find you.” Communities and relationships can be easily undermined by others looking to leverage their good will or their assets for personal means, to someone else’s detriment. It will do no good to trust without also verifying and vetting whatever comes your way.

This is an intense cross with little relief. Take a hint from the crab and stay inside one’s shell for awhile. Here, both Neptune and Saturn may provide respective relief in the downtime if we choose to isolate ourselves until the storm passes by — finding solace in a temporary addiction or escape — for does not the sleeping medicine of a doctor give benefit to the patient’s pain? — taken in small doses — and give us a chance to overlook the faults of others with suitable forgiveness, or spend this alone time building or reinforcing our foundations with Saturn.

Mercury prepares to carry this message from Saturn to Pluto, where if you do not build wisely, Pluto may be compelled to blow your house down.

Super Moon in Taurus: Exalted

Everyone’s abuzz about the Super Moon in Taurus at 22 degrees, with the sun in Scorpio, Taurus’s opposite sign.

Expect the moon to bring out the passionate side of this fixed sign of Taurus, especially in the aftermath of the recent election — people will be examining what they value in life, and they will be doing so beyond the Taurean scope of money-counting and possessiveness — instead, it will be inner and spiritual wealth that will come under scrutiny. Already, I’ve been listening to people speak on how they relate to this country, it’s politics, their relationship to the government, and to their neighbors, and what it means to be an American — all themes on those inner subjects whose worth is intangible. Scorpio turns the Taurus bull to look deeper into these issues and how they relate to our internal lives — the ultimate value and wealth that remains when all other physical things have been burned away, in Scorpionic fashion. But the bull is stubborn — no one wants to give an inch, or change their minds.

Stay safe during this super moon, as the nature of this intensity and passionate examination of worth might lead to violence and certainly, schisms between people who were formerly friends, if our ideals of worth and value turn out to create fractures which cannot be tolerated and build into conflict, in order to prove our worth, and that we deserve our place, our power, and to believe what we believe without being challenged for it.
