Virgo New Moon at 25 Degrees: Reorganizing Retrogrades

We are experiencing a mighty week with the Virgo new moon upon us at 25 degrees, September 17, 2020 at 7 am. We will have a difficult time accessing the more sensitive side of our emotions under the influence of Virgo, who organizes, plans, and analyzes, who communicates and creates firm boundaries. The moon and sun both firmly planted in that 25th degree are more interested in straightforward answers to direct questions, and this energy will be at play at work as well as at home. Perhaps with so many little ones heading back into school — or staying home for an extended and undetermined time period — this will be where our ability to plan our days, our diets, our exercises, our tasks, will be put to the test and we will have to answer for our shortcomings as well as our successes. More likely still, anything that has been hidden in our personal lives or career will have to be aligned to a more harmonious center. It was fine in the world of pre-2020 to be a workaholic, or to be a stay at home parent. Perhaps those roles are being mixed, reversed, and muddied. Virgo is here to establish new ground rules.

There is an order to the cosmos, and there is an order to reading an astrological chart. Normally, I would delve into other, closer planets, but it is suitable to discuss Mars, who has begun his retrograde through the sign of Aries, at 27 degrees. This puts him at a slight inconjunct to the sun and the moon, and if we are set back by the troubles of Mars attempting to express himself and failing, we may feel the brunt of that in ways that are not easy to resolve. Neighbors may chomp at the bit and never solve their arguments, people who are meant to assist us might be uncommonly, and irrationally, defiant. Plans that were meant to be carried through, suddenly fall through because of someone else’s poor planning. Stopping to take a breath and be calm will serve you well here.

Mercury is important in this lunation because Mercury rules over Virgo. Mercury is transiting through Libra at 17 degrees, and may help balance out the Virgo earthiness with an intellectual air and a dash of beauty, softening and facilitating others through communication. Also at a slight inconjunct to Mercury is Neptune at 19 degrees of Pisces, which may allow our communications to be less than honest. At best, we can hope for a fairly innocuous flattery, but be careful with how far you take it under the influence of Neptune.

Venus is at 12 degrees of Leo, pouring fire onto the mix. She represents the female, the mother, the wife, and she may provide a powerful feminine force to the raucous journey Mars has been taking us on. More importantly, she also has everything to do with matters of love and fortune. We may be star struck by a glittering attraction, or better yet, the potential to earn money or be visited by and unexpected windfall with Uranus in Taurus forming a square to Venus as well. The square may create tension here, and if it is not an unexpected windfall, it could also be an unexpected bill! It’s no accident that scientists have been a buzz lately about the sighting of phosphine gas in Venus’s atmosphere.

At one end of this chart in Capricorn, sharing the same earth element as Virgo and Taurus, the heavyweight of the ring: Jupiter at 17 degrees, Pluto at 22 degrees, and Saturn at 27 degrees. Jupiter already began forward motion earlier, and now it is Saturn who is grinding to a halt and preparing to move forward again. We may not want to contemplate that during this summer, and since the early spring, we have in fact been in a holding pattern while backward moving time lords quietly rearranged the furniture while we were out. They will be opening doors soon for us to come back in and give us an opportunity to put things back to rights. They are not finished with us yet!

A long last, we should have spent this period reformulating plans, discarding ideas that did not work, rethinking our long term plans, regretting too much expansion in all the wrong areas, and considering how much we had to contract. Once Saturn and Jupiter move forward together, we will have a little time to say good bye to Capricorn before they slip into Aquarius and martial new challenges for us. No doubt, Saturn’s journey through Aquarius will be only the beginning of a recovery from our present, and the taskmaster and disciplinarian will want us to be on our best behavior.

Leo New Moon 8/17/2020 – Echoes of 2017, Sifting Through Rubble

Photo by Alexas Fotos at Pexels.com

On August 18, 2020, we have a new moon in Leo at 26 degrees occurring at 10:42 pm

It may seem like forever ago, Cosmic Dreamers, but it was a mere 3 years ago that we experienced a major solar eclipse. Our world forever changed from that moment, and this Leo new moon echoes that degree from 2017. We have since experienced a major conjunction between the Lord of Death, Lord of Discipline, and the Lord of Expansion. We have had frightful squares and Uranus changed signed from Aries to Taurus. What have all these changes done for you, or to you?

The sun and the moon are at 26 degrees of Leo. Our conduct is more important now than ever before. New moon is asking us what our intentions are and how we will treat others – equitably, or disrespectfully? There will be consequences for either choice, but we will be aligned across our emotional and private selves, our public and logical selves.

Mercury is at the 28th degree of Leo in tight configuration with the luminaries. This means our communications are lost in the competing beams of the sun and the moon – Mercury is combust, too close to express himself well. Our communications may be lost in translation, over looked, or perhaps argumentative. Negative effects may be tempers fraying and difficulty connecting to our emotional center.

Additionally, Mars at 24 degrees of Aries is trining the Sun, the Moon, and Mercury. Mars’ trine is significant, as he intends to speed up  the effects of his enforcement, his aggression. He is already in his shadow, gearing up for the imminent retrograde. For a breathing moment before he moves backwards, there will be accord in matters of enforcement and the powers that be. Is it a calm before the storm with congress out of session, or will Mars aggression be backed by the power of government?

Saturn at 26 degrees of Capricorn is inconjunct to the sun and the moon. Our personal and public every day life is experiencing friction from other sectors: society and law, for certain. We have been constrained in every way possible in these recent months, but the message gets crueler under Saturn’s punishing pressure. It may be that current events have forced us into a prison of many different kinds – social or literal, or placed us in a bind where all of our choices are difficult ones. Seek help where you can and do your best to stay floating in this mess, you will still need to weather the hardest part.

Pluto at 22 degrees and Jupiter at 18 degrees of Capricorn are all together in this house still, recovering from their previous square with Mars, which while not exact, is perhaps a bit too close to comfort. Friction bubbles beneath the surface.

Uranus has made it through the first decan of Taurus, and finally stationed retrograde. What has happened in the past year since May of 2018 when Uranus truly make his presence known? We have been experiencing many changes, but for now we will be reviewing all that has happened. It is time to sift through the rubble of the structures that Uranus shook, and see what needs more work, needs more time, needs more destruction.

Aquarius Full Moon at 11 Degrees: Transformations Ahead

This full moon lunation on August 3, 2020 at 11:59 am finds us at a junction of a power struggle between the needs of public and private life and with enforcement bridging the gap between those two worlds. We are being asked to transform, and ultimately, this full moon in Aquarius is hinting at what larger changes Aquarius may have in store for us as this moon plows ahead of Jupiter and Saturn.

First, we have the sun already advanced in 11 degrees of Leo, in the house of fun and creation, and a sign that rules over leader and royals. What does it bode for the “luminaries” our political space, such as Donald Trump as we inch nearer to the election day, and does it have any special meaning for Harry and Megan Markle with her ongoing court case? However it goes, in our own lives we might find ourselves longing for a little vacation time and wanting to indulge in our hobbies as a way of coping with the exhaustion of recent politics. Spend time with children, and learn to recapture your childlike wonder.

That said, a square beaming in from Uranus at 10 degrees of Taurus might shake things up, because Uranus squares both the sun and the moon, injecting an element of surprise into the proceedings. For us, we might have to adjust plans and it may leave us with some sense of frustration until we learn to embrace the change. Behind the scenes, our political leaders will feel affected the same by unexpected news, and will have to pivot quickly to deal with last minute “surprises.”

Given the moon is in 11 degrees Aquarius, perhaps we are feeling the friction of our home situation building up over the weeks. Aquarius is feeding into our rebellious spirit. We have been through so many changes in the past few months it seems impossible that we could bear more – the real change may come from within us as we discover we need to reassess internally what those definitions of home and heart are. Uranus squaring the moon will exacerbate these feelings.

Mercury communications are vulnerable, reactive, emotional as he goes down the home stretch of Cancer at 27 degrees, preparing to enter Leo, where his communications will ultimately favor a more regal air. But until then, he is finishing up the business of the emotional center, the home life. We may find evictions are altered by last minute communications and the messenger comes at the nick of time.

Mars at 19 degrees Aries is in his element and still in his shadow before he prepares to go retrograde. Ordinarily, we can expect Mars to express well in this way, by excelling in speed and strength, by pushing and pushing his way to success through sheer will, but it depends on who is doing the pushing, and at what expense to the rest of us. Mars rules over police officers and the military, and given the recent tensions and the looming retrograde, what a first might seem beneficial could quickly go sideways and will need to be revisited. Our aggression needs to be channeled in constructive ways, or we may experience another clash with the potential for wounding on either side. This is brought into focus with the square between Saturn and Mars, two forces, one representing the law and status quo and the other representing enforcement. There will be difficulty here as each side struggles to resolve their interests. This may see police departments defunded, or conversely, further militarized, for the effect of the square will be tension and difficulties dealing with the tension of their conflicting interests.

Venus in Gemini at 26 degrees is conjunct the north node at 28 degrees of Gemini. We may meet a women or be met with unexpected fortune that influences our lives. Often these small twists of fate do not become apparent until it is in the rear view mirror. Gemini being ruled by Mercury will also affect those who identify with the feminine, we may find more discussions about money matters or matters concerning our appearance, our hair, our make up, how we dress, and that we are going back and forth between our decisions.

Jupiter at 19 degrees of Capricorn, Pluto at 23 degrees of Capricorn, and Saturn at 27 degrees of Capricorn form a stellium in this house, still echoing earlier conjunctions that have ushered us into 2020. They are still moving backward and retracing all this year has wrought; when they move forward again, we will feel the effects, but it will be to sweep away the debris and clear the path of all these transformations. These giants are setting the stage for a rebuilding process as they prepare their journeys for Aquarius that looms ahead. We have already gotten a preview with Saturn having been visiting there for a time, and there will be yet more to accomplish. Pluto will remain a good while longer yet as the other planets bid him farewell. In the meantime, they are still cozy, telling jokes at our expense, and we are asked to transform ourselves in response.

Defining Home: New Moon at 28 Degrees of Cancer, July 20, 2020

Photo by Faruk Tokluoğlu from Pexels

This lunation emphasizes again, as have the past lunations recently, the importance of the Cancer-Capricorn polarity. Have you experienced the pressure of your home life, your emotional self, and the outer world, the work place, your career, your social standing? The pandemic has delivered a hefty one-two blow to some of the most critical sectors of our lives, our home and our work. It is expected that there will be a wave of evictions in the near future, highlighting the upsets of Cancer, and of course, those evictions would not have been possible without the shut downs affecting our work lives.

This new moon promises a new beginning in this cycle of endings; there will be opportunities in the midst of the crisis, but they may not be easy, they may be unexpected. Be flexible and adaptable to avoid the friction of the new moon lunation that opposes the powerhouse conjunction in Capricorn between Saturn at 21 degrees, Pluto at 23 degrees, and Jupiter at 28 degrees. This opposition will leave a generational stamp, echoing for years to come, for these are time lords and generational planets.

Saturn is assessing and taking inventory for his last pass before he goes back to Aquarius for good. Now is the time to make your appeals, to change those rigid constrictions that might be holding you back before Saturn sweeps past. It could be a relationship of business or marriage, a duty or obligation, an issue of a status quo that now seems to strangle. Change it, or knuckle under and accept how it changes you.

Mars squares Mercury in a less than favorable aspect. Mars in Aries at 12 degrees is turbo charged and wants to prove himself, to excel in his aggressive aspects. Mercury in Cancer at 8 degrees may oil the gears of communication by being tapped into those fruitful emotional connections, but paired with Mars’s fiery aspect, avoid arguments. Anyone else notice the aggressive Microsoft update that hijacked people’s PC screens? Perhaps we can thank this Mercury square Mars aspect for it. Drama and heat can explode under the right circumstances.

Mercury finally went forward, stationing direct on July 12. If you managed to make it through the retrograde period unscathed, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Others of us may have not been so lucky, dropping our cell phones into puddles.

Venus is moving forward in Gemini, where she’s spent quite a lot of time already. Many communications continue between neighborhood people who perhaps were more standoffish during lock down. Ruled by Mercury, this means Venus’s energy flows in support of Mercury, and she herself takes on mercurial qualities. Your conversations with lovers may be increasingly quick witted, but just as easily could be full of quick mood changes as Venus tried to make up her mind on what she wants. The sign of the twins may have given her more options to choose from then she expected to have.

Neptune at 20 degrees of Pisces also trines the sun and the moon. Water, water, water. Emotions run high and this trine will facilitate those sleepy day dreams, our hazy musings, our inspired artistic thinking or creative juices. Just make sure this Neptune energy isn’t working toward your detriment, such as leading you into a fog of misdirection, where information may be unreliable and deceptive. Double check the information you get and don’t take anyone’s word at face value.

Uranus in Taurus at 10 degrees has made it through the first decan of our very different world, since when he first entered in May of 2018. He is reshaping our material world and resources in slow and cataclysmic ways. We can interpret a large part of this will be the falling away of some of the last of the previous generations who saw the Great Wars, the graying of the Boomers, and how this will affect the wealth of the Millennials who come after. The pandemic has spurred the Federal Reserve to introduce aggressive monetary policies to help shore up the impact of the shut down. How we acquire resources and use them will change over the coming years, and no doubt the foundation for those changes has just been set.

Full Moon Penumbral Eclipse July 5: Cancer-Capricorn Polarity

Full Moon Penumbral Lunar Eclipse at 13 Capricorn, July 5, 2020 12:44 AM

This time around we find ourselves at the next Penumbral full moon lunar eclipse. Over and over again we find ourselves presented with challenges by the planets, but perhaps none so much as eclipse season. How are you progressing in your journey of this incredible and vital life?

This time, we experience the eclipse on July 5, in the early morning hours of 12:44 EST. The moon positioned at 13 degrees of Capricorn, opposing the sun at 13 degrees of Cancer. The Capricorn – Cancer polarity is the overriding theme of this lunation. These cardinal signs encompass some of the most important elements of our lives. Cancer is ruled by the moon, and so is at his detriment in the sign of Capricorn, forced to look upon the place where he is at his happiest. This makes for a very unsatisfying eclipse.

Capricorn is the natural 10th house and is ruled by Saturn. Here, work and career is highlighted, rules and the status quo are of importance. We may have volatile emotions embedded in the career field now, nerves may fray, and the crossing of the moon through the 10th house may also, along with the power of the eclipse, usher in endings at the work place, or the endings of projects.

Our personal life may become the subject of public events. How that manifests will come down to individual charts, but expect more break ups between lovers, severed relationships of people who may have formerly been living together, and also, for career positions to come to an end – either expected, or unexpected.

With the sun in Cancer, we will feel nostalgic, we may wish to hang on to the comforts of home and the home environment. Perhaps all the remote work some have experienced is wearing thin, or the opposite has happened — a deeper desire to dig in has taken hold. This lunation will transform our work space, and transform our home space — and in some cases, those places will be one and the same.

Mercury tags along close to the sun, but not too close to be tightly conjunct in Cancer, at 7 degrees. Still moving retrograde, this does mean Mercury and the sun will pass each other, suggesting that Mercury is not only in retrograde and causing his usual amount of frustration, but that additionally as he comes closer and reaches combustion with the sun, communications will be harder and harder. Mercury will have continuing problems communicating effectively. Take a deep breath and be patient with everyone at home, and check the telecommunications equipment.

Venus is striving through Gemini, where she has tread before, but this time, going forward. She has been gaining clarity about her situation, and in the sign of Gemini, the twins, it would not be surprising if she is facing a choice between two lovers, two friends, two investments. Now comes the weighing of value between them all, and this full moon lunar eclipse is ripe for making permanent choices about which path to choose.

Venus sextiles Mars, who is at 4 degrees of Aries where he will remain for the majority of the year. Here, Mars is in his full power, happy to be in the sign he rules. Mars rules over the military, soldiers, warriors, but notably, also the police. Mars has great force, and in its most benevolent aspect, this force is intended to protect the weak, to safeguard those who cannot safe guard themselves. Mars at his best is a hero’s energy — giving of his spirit.

Mars forms a loose square to the sun and the moon. This harsh aspect will find force meets with frustration and that warrior energy will be tested, and it’s expression may not be so benevolent. However, this square is not exact; we may find that the real test is less an expression of violence, but more a transformation of warriors everywhere. Mars in Aries loves new beginnings, and pioneering. Mars is about to be taking down and reconsidering his old structures for new, since we have a retrograde on the horizon. Expect this moon to see a change in how aggression is dealt with. The resolution will accompany friction.

Saturn at 29 degrees of Capricorn and retrograde, is clustered with Pluto at 24 degrees, and Jupiter at 23 degrees. Saturn is coming back in to take care of unfinished business, and he will no doubt be reconfiguring the status quo to accommodate the huge generational changes that Pluto and Jupiter will usher in. Expect the law to be a recurring theme. Keep an eye on the Supreme Court Justices, for the landmark decisions they make during this period will echo for a generation to come.

The uglier aspect of this full moon eclipse is the Jupiter and Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. Pluto destroys and transforms, while Jupiter expands. This is a potent combination, and Jupiter is not happy to be in the constraining house of Saturn. We hope this conjunction passes us by with as little damage as possible, but I would expect to see corporations suffer serious blows, more struggles with economic constraints brought by the coronavirus, and unfortunately, the possible expansion of infection of the virus. This may be further exacerbated by aspect to Neptune in Pisces, who sextiles Pluto, bringing in the moist environment that some of have speculated gave rise to the virus as well, as the origin was indeed, a “wet market”, and between Pisces and Cancer, we have quite a bit of water to contend with.

Uranus at 10 degrees of Taurus is trining the moon in Cancer. He is a third of the way through his journey in Uranus, and we can see by now that changes have been made to the landscape specifically in terms of resources and values. While there are many thoughts on what more can we expect from this aspect – imminent legalization of marijuana, disruption in currency or cryptocurrency — there can be no clearer picture than what is emerging right in front of us, with the monumental job losses suffered in the United States thus far. The issue of resources will be not only those of earth, those of money, but also, those of spiritual mettle and character, as we confront difficulties that will force us to find the inner “gold” of alchemy.

A Pox On Our Houses: Solar Eclipse at 0 Degrees of Cancer, June 21, 2020

This post contains affiliate links at the end.

When? Jun 21, 2020,  2:41 AM

What? New moon, Solar Eclipse at 0 degrees of Cancer

A new moon solar eclipse occurs at 0 degrees Cancer on June 21, 2:41 am, and represents great shifts happening in our homes, our family lives, and our emotional selves. New moons have always been a great time to start new projects, but this new moon’s intense energy and proliferation of retrograding planets make new projects both daunting and difficult to maintain for the long term. A square from Mars and Neptune in Pisces confronting our emotional Sun and Moon also throws a wrench into our plans. More so, Cancer is a cardinal sign of beginnings and endings, with the mother of all events when it comes to beginnings and endings: the new moon eclipse.

We have Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto retrograding. It should be understood that the larger planets have regular retrogrades that form the background of our day to day lives and are not generally intrusive in the same way that Mercury, Venus, and Mars are. It is Venus and Mercury’s retrograde that will make the launch of any new project more difficult than usual. And while no one need let the stars stop them from signing contracts and making important decisions that cannot be put off, you may well end up having to go back over these or re-doing them.

Complicating matters is that Cancer is also a sign that oversees breakups, endings and beginnings. There are going to be people moving out of homes, finalizing divorces, or breaking up. Given the pressures of the pandemic that have been building up between couples at home, if partners were able to avoid each other’s difficult traits because they could distract themselves with entertainments and trips before, all that began to unravel once everything was shut down. Now, as things open back up, people will be wanting to reassess what their relationships are going forward — and they may not resemble what they were before.

The square from the sun and the moon in Cancer contacting Mars and Neptune in Pisces will also come into play with these watery signatures. Don’t fight against the tide, or you will only wear yourself down. It is better to go with the flow and stay with the trends. Mars in Neptune is having difficulty finding his path clearly, and is bound to get angry if he feels lost — which of course, he will. Mars in Neptune will not express well, and in an effort to avoid responsibility, looks to perpetuate cycles of abuse to avoid confrontation.

Saturn, at 0 degrees of Aquarius in retrograde, is turning back around to take care of something he forgot, and he intends to address the situation with our potentially abusive Mars. The sextile from Saturn provides not only a stabilizing force, but an energy similar to a father who is tucking his head inside a door to check on the unruly kids. The law will hold when Mars tries to get away with breaking things. The only problem here is that Pluto and Jupiter are conjunct in Capricorn, at 24 and 25 degrees. They have increased potential for amplifying destruction during this period. How much damage will they do by the time Saturn comes around to check on things? Quite a lot, as it turns out. Lay low for this lunation until the storm has passed.

Mercury in retrograde at 14 degrees of Cancer is going to rewrite the way we conduct our relationships. An obvious part of this is how people who are doing online dating are choosing to facetime or make video calls rather than meet in person. Double check your appointments, schedules, contracts, and look into any home maintenance you’ve neglected. Now might be a good time to fix that plumbing issue that’s been plaguing you.

Venus is still forging her retrograde path at 5 degrees of Gemini and trining (loosely) Jupiter and Pluto while she’s at it. This will quicken the complications of Venus in Gemini’s chatty sign, increasing communications and increasing potential lovers – choice paralysis may be a feature of this contact as we struggle to find the balance between too many options — with difficult results.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, and so any love affairs that are not only impacted by Venus’s troubles will also be impacted by the miscommunication exemplified by Mercury in retrograde. In Gemini, this should be a double dose of difficulty. Additionally, if your romantic life isn’t highlighted, Venus may show up as losses or bad investments. Keep an eye on your resources and made sure more isn’t going out the door than you can handle.

Uranus in Taurus will continue to shake things up, speaking of resources. Restaurants, arts and entertainment — all those lovely luxuries that Taurus loves to enjoy, are still dealing with the fall out of the pandemic. But as more of them are reopening across the country, we are going to be faced with a new way of doing business for these venues — or no business at all. Expect more people to save money by staying in and learning how to make their own lavish dishes, but on the bigger stage of our lives, we may be watching a huge shift in resources that is affecting our lifestyle in a big way. Everything has changed, including the way we reckon with money as a nation and the free time we find ourselves with as a result from working from home.

(Post edited to reflect that Venus in Gemini trines Pluto and Jupiter, as opposed to originally reporting that it was opposing. Thank you to Antony for the catch!)

Venus On Fire: Full Moon Eclipse in Sagittarius At 15 degrees, June 5, 2020

Full Moon Penumbral Eclipse on June 5, 2020 at 3:12 PM EST, at 15 degrees Sagittarius

The moon joins us at 15 degrees of Sagittarius on June 5th for a penumbral eclipse. This means the very edge of the shadow of the earth falls across the moon, and is far less noticeable than a full eclipse or a partial. A mere brushing of the onset of darkness occurs, and some may not notice it at all.

What does it mean for this lunar cycle and this full moon? While the moon rules over our emotion and private home lives, the sun rules over our public lives of career and social standing from his perch at Gemini, 15 degrees. The 15th degree is highlighted for this lunar cycle for these reasons, as the moon and the sun oppose each other as they do every full moon, and we are caught in the middle of these dual forces — between happy go lucky Sagitarrius who wants to expand our emotional selves or maybe even wants to find a new home base, to quick thinking Gemini who is demanding more of our attention at work as things are ramping up in the outer world, and so are the demands on our focus and ability to communicate. We may be traveling more than usual, which suits Sagittarius just fine, as he’s feeling a little cooped up from quarantine. With just enough Zoom meetings you may be able to keep him chained up at home.

Also at the 15th degree, notably, is Mars in Pisces, where he has been dodging confrontations and hedging bets. He doesn’t want to give anyone firm answers. He waffles between choices and is wringing his hands, a decidedly un-Mars thing to do. Mars is bottled up in Pisces and squaring the sun in Gemini and the moon in Sagittarius. When faced with uncomfortable information from Gemini and Sagittarius, Mars is going to fail to rise to the challenges presented and instead do what he prefers under the cover of darkness. This is a bad configuration for people who may need to make important decisions in the near future. Contracts which were agreed upon will not be broken, but bent and warped to fit someone’s unwillingness to own up to their actions. Get everything in writing and don’t rely on verbal promises.

Add into the mix our lovely Venus in retrograde, combust the sun in Gemini at 12 degrees. Not only is Venus having difficulty because she is in retrograde and our love affairs may be going backwards in terms of progress, our new romances during this period plagued by constant issues, and under the sign of Gemini, no doubt there is plenty of bickering and misfires in communication — but on top of this turbulent condition, Venus is also combust! Combust means a planet is too close to the sun, agitating the other planet so it cannot express well and becomes debilitated. The planet is in essence, swallowed up by the fire of the sun and cannot be made visible.

We’ve already established that Venus rules love affairs, particularly in the domestic role, dedicated romantic partners and women in particular. But it seems here we can wonder if Venus’s combust nature means she is being shoved aside for the sake of someone else’s career, or being ignored by a significant other. In this context, the meaning of being “burned” may become more meaningful than we realize. (Note too, the jump in people trying to escape their spouses during quarantine – from Neil Gaiman fleeing Amanda Palmer, to Megan Fox separating from Brian Austin Green, for a few.)

In addition to love, Venus also rules fortune. We may see loss of money during this period as unexpected expenses are incurred. It would be a good time to go over budgets and double check your resources to see that you have enough of everything, and don’t go spending a lot on all that glitters. You may discover later it wasn’t gold after all.

Mercury has powerful significance during this period as well, since he is the ruler of Gemini, and he is occupying 9 degrees of Cancer this time around. Just as the last new moon was filled with Mercury’s presence kick starting off our communications in the house of Gemini, this one is also exposing ways we can improve those communications and ways in which they have failed us. We are fixing minor issues and issuing corrections for things we said before, a point made strong by the penumbral eclipse. It is not a definitive ending, but a seeking for answers and better changes, of gently guiding our ship right after a slight wander off course.

Mercury’s presence in Cancer is also the house which rules the moon, which means we have the moon in Gemini, where Mercury rules, and Mercury in Cancer, where the moon rules. Mutual reception! Communication at home is going to flow well and swiftly. Use this chance to do everything from going over service contracts, renovations, buyer-seller contracts, real estate issues, marriage oriented plans or pre-nups, and everything in between. With many people still hesitating to wander outside, all text dates or Zoom-only conferences may still be the order of the day, and there couldn’t be a better time to do it.

Jupiter at 26 degrees of Capricorn is enjoying his own buddy comedy with gloomy Pluto at 24 degrees of Capricorn in the house of rules, restrictions, and status quo. Jupiter can’t wait to get away from buzzkill Pluto, but these two are still finishing their own sordid business together. Pluto still harks back to the unfinished business of consequences for actions taken, but since when has Jupiter been one to stick around and clean up after a party? Never. Jupiter tries to surge ahead but he’s tripping over the wreckage he has caused. This is the metaphor we are fighting with currently. Things we did in times of excess turned out to be short-sighted, and harmful in the long run. We see this a great deal with the expansion of commerce which made use of “just-in-time” inventory. Unfortunately, this has caused problems in the food supply when Pluto pinched things, and now there’s a bit of a mess to clean up and people are slowly considering what other options there may be in the house of rules and restriction. Will we come up with new laws and regulations to protect ourselves from this short sightedness again?

Saturn is happily digging into Aquarius at 1 degree. Aquarius was traditionally the house of Saturn before Uranus grew up and castrated his dear father, so in this sense, there is a happy reunion to nostalgia. It’s not Saturn’s home, but the place he grew up. He is, by rulership, lending a bit of his energy to Uranus, who is transiting Taurus at 8 degrees where big changes are afoot. This may mean that Saturn is in the mood to relax some rules regarding the earth where he was once a little more somber in Capricorn — there have already been interesting moves in the stock markets regarding biotech companies and marijuana stocks, something which would very much be under the concerns of Taurus right now, but stocks regard public issues and rules, which Saturn can play a hand in.

Stars By Design Now Has A Video Channel

We posted out first video over on YouTube. The crazy lady with the multi colored hair is me.

You can watch me talk awkwardly on camera about the latest new moon post here:

This is my first real foray, and I’m learning a lot about what goes into making videos. This is just the initial splash, so there’s already a lot of plans to improve things. My bigger plan so far is also to take these videos down once they are no longer relevant, so they won’t be available for longer than a certain period of time yet. I hope you’ll join me in the new part of my media journey!
